Russia Far East monitors radiation levels every 2 hours RIA Novosti, PUBLISHED April 01, 2011 Radiation levels are within the norm in Russia's Far East region of Sakhalin and the danger of radioactive pollution in the region is unlikely, a spokesman for the regional emergencies ministry said on Friday. "There were no deviations from the norms," he said adding that data from radiation monitoring in the region, close to Japan's quake-hit Fukushima nuclear power plant, is received by emergencies department every two hours.
