Russia’s Israeli counterparts welcomed the initiative, the statement said, adding, “Yariv Levin, a coalition chairman in Israeli Parliament agreed with the importance of such work and expressed readiness to bring the international law in accordance with contemporary conditions, when war is waged not between regular armies of states, but with terrorist groups, which shield themselves with civilians.” Russian senators also discussed during the meetings the situation in Middle East, Iran’s nuclear ambitions and Russian-Israeli relations. “We value the strategic dialogue with Israeli partners, the high level and the feeling of trust in our bilateral relations,” Margelov said, according to the statement.
