Reactor vessel is lifted at Novovoronezh NPP-2 second unit

The reactor pressure vessel of unit #2 of the Novovoronezh NPP-2 (Russia) was set in the design position.

Installation of equipment was carried out in two stages. First, the reactor vessel weighing more than 330 tons was raised to a transport portal and rails on a special truck displaced inside the hermetical unit.

In the second stage, March 28, the reactor vessel was installed using the polar crane at the proper position in the reactor vault to the pressure ring (+11.1 elevation).

The complete assembly of the reactor vessel is one of the key events of the construction of the unit, followed by welding of the main circulation pipeline of the reactor's 1st circuit.
