Cold hydro testing is started at Unit 1 of Kursk NPP-2

At the Kursk NPP-2 power unit No. 1 under construction, the cold hydro testing has begun on October 19, 2023. the website of Rosenergoatom reported.

This is one of the most important pre-start technological operations that ensure the readiness of the equipment of the first circuit of the reactor plant.

The cold hydro testing is controlled by the operational personnel of Kursk NPP-2 from a block control room.

60 tons of chemically desalinated water entered the reactor vessel through the pressurizer through the main circulation pipeline of the primary circuit. At this stage, water samples were taken for subsequent laboratory testing for the level of hardness, electrical conductivity and transparency.

Specialists monitor the technological parameters and condition of the equipment of the reactor's primary circuit.
