Mashinostroitelnyi Zavod OJSC visited by delegation from the Republic of South Africa TVEL, PUBLISHED August 14, 2010 "Mashinostroitelnyi Zavod" OJSC (Mechanical Engineering Works) was visited by delegation from the Republic of South Africa on August 02. The purpose of the visit was to study the process of nuclear fuel production within the framework of technical seminar on the Russian nuclear technologies. "Because of development of the nuclear program in the Republic of South Africa, the government seeks a nuclear fuel supplier for the future nuclear power plants. Several power units, consuming different types of fuel, are to be constructed. Before going to Elektrostal the delegation has visited several foreign nuclear fuel producing enterprises", – noted David Nichols, leading engineer of Eskom, the largest South African generating company, who had participated in the visit. According to him, this enterprise, located near Moscow, made a very good impression. As Nichols said, one should not doubt the competency of the specialists of "Mashinostroitelnyi Zavod" and the quality of the output products. The guests of "Mashinostroitelnyi Zavod" OJSC were shown a presentation of the enterprise; the main subject of discussion was the volumes and range of fuel, produced by "MSZ", which can be supplied to South Africa annually. Moreover, the delegates visited the production shops of "MSZ" OJSC.
