455 nuclear units are operating in the world AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 29.08.2018 The current number of the operating nuclear power units in the world is equal to 455. These data are presented in the PRIS database supported by the IAEA. Another 55 units have the status of the being built one. Since the beginning of 2017, seven new units were connected to the grid, five of them in China - "Sanmen-1", "Taishan-1", "Yangjiang-5", "Haiyang-1" and "Sanmen-2". Two new units were connected to the grid in Russia - "Leningrad-2-1" and "Rostov-4".
