Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom Director General, and Liu Wei, Chinese Minister of Transport, convened the first meeting of Subcommittee on Russia-China Cooperation on the Northern Sea Route Rosatom, PUBLISHED 28.11.2024 The Subcommittee on Cooperation on the Northern Sea Route (NSR) of the Russia-China Committee for the Preparation of Regular Meetings between the Heads of Government had its first meeting in St. Petersburg on 25 November 2024. Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom Director General is the head of the Russian party of the Subcommittee and Liu Wei, China's Minister of Transport, leads the Chinese delegation. In his opening address, Alexey Likhachev stated: "Despite this being the first meeting of the Subcommittee, we have already formalized a number of agreements between our nations regarding the safety of navigation. We are working towards constructive collaboration on other significant matters. I believe we have established a strong basis for the future endeavors of this Subcommittee". The Chinese Transport Minister, Liu Wei, also stated that the two parties had reached a number of significant agreements regarding their future collaborative endeavors.
