137 foreign diplomats visit CNNC CNNC, PUBLISHED 09.03.2025 On March 3, the "Ambassadors Face to Face with CNNC" event, organized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, opened in Beijing. It drew the attendance of 137 representatives from foreign embassies in China, international organizations, and the Office of Commercial Development of Haiti to China attended, including 32 foreign ambassadors, 8 charge d'affaires, and 1 representative from an international organization. During the discussion, Zhang Kai, vice-president of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), welcomed the visit of foreign diplomats. He emphasized that the CNNC has firmly adhered to the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, upheld the principles of openness, shared benefits, cooperation and mutual success, and actively advocated the philosophy of peaceful development. The CNNC has established solid partnership with over 60 countries and regions, engaged in deep collaboration with multilateral organizations such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), and opened its nuclear research facilities and experimental platforms to the global community. As a key force in China's nuclear energy development, nuclear engineering and nuclear technology applications, the CNNC has been committed to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, offering diverse solutions in nuclear power, nuclear medicine and radiation technology in a drive to support global sustainable development and enhance human well-being. Zhang also highlighted CNNC's achievements in clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient utilization of nuclear energy. He gave an introduction to the company's expertise in engineering construction and operational support of various nuclear power technologies, nuclear medical solutions, and irradiation technology for agricultural breeding and food safety, emphasizing the unique value of nuclear technology in improving the health and life quality of people worldwide. During the visit, attendees toured a special exhibition and learned more about the CNNC's nuclear technology applications and international cooperation. They also visited the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams, the Heavy Water Research Reactor, the miniature neutron source reactor, the radioactive pharmaceuticals production line, and the Nuclear Safeguards Technology Key Laboratory. During the interactive session, participants engaged in discussions with CNNC representatives on topics such as nuclear power technology, international cooperation, nuclear innovation, radioactive waste management and nuclear technology applications. They noted that this event has provided them with a valuable opportunity to better understand China's nuclear industry and learn more about the CNNC's efforts in advancing nuclear innovation and industry development. Many of them expressed eagerness to deepen cooperation with China in the nuclear energy sector for mutual growth.
